I studied Art at Chelsea College of Art, London in 2004, and then went on to complete a BA Hons in Illustration at University College Falmouth in 2008, including a year at Nagoya University of Arts, Japan. After graduating, I spent three years working at the Illustration Cupboard Gallery, London’s leading illustration gallery at the time, managing exhibitions for world famous illustrators such as Judith Kerr, Chris Riddell and Shaun Tan. I subsequently spent five years working with Walker Books, the UK’s biggest independent picture book publisher, where I worked on picture book marketing campaigns for award-winning illustrators including Chris Haughton, Jean Jullien, Oliver Jeffers, Carson Ellis and Jon Klassen.
Since leaving Walker Books in 2016, I have been working as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer. I use a variety of different media to create my illustrations, including Japanese black ink, collage, pencils, and Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. My personal artwork is inspired by my time in Japan and South East Asia, and my artistic influences include Yuko Shimizu, Utagawa Kuniyoshi, Ralph Steadman and Shepard Fairey, to name a few.
I'm available for a wide range of projects, including editorial work, advertising, packaging, patterns, book covers, murals, or personalised gifts.
If you have something particular you'd like me to illustrate, please get in touch and let's have a chat!
